About this Event

Aim of the session

In this 1-hour session, the “Quality in Construction” training course authors and tutors, Nina Abbassi of Abbassi Ltd and Mike Debenham of BPIU, introduce you to the course with examples of content and what to expect from the live online version which can be taken from the comfort of your own home or office anywhere in the world.

Why “Quality in Construction”?

Poor quality can adversely impact on Health and Safety, Reputation, Programme, Environment, Management’s time, Pride and morale…

‘Get it Right Initiative’ reported that 21 % of the project cost is due to error. The construction industry needs to investigate how to reduce this and to get the work completed right first time, assuring quality.

The CQI Construction Special Interest Group (ConSIG), has produced a lot of literature on the importance of quality to construction and the applicable tools and techniques that help manage and achieve quality. The Training Working Group (TWG) of the ConSIG chaired by Karen McDonald developed a set of specification for a CQI-IRCA Certified 2-day training course that introduces the learners to ‘Quality in Construction’.

Abbassi Ltd is the first and currently the only CQI Approved Training Partner (ATP), who has designed and developed the course content to meet the CQI Specification and has been delivering this CQI-IRCA Approved course since November 2019.
