SUMMARY:Using digital technology to generate value in construction.
DESCRIPTION:The Construction Special Interest Group will present aspects of how digital technology in the construction industry can enhance quality and generate value in construction. \nThis topic relates to the context aspect of the CQI Competency Framework with regard to the changing work environment through advances in digital technology. \nAttendees will gain an insight into the personal experiences and lessons learned by those involved in implementing digital field tools. \nThere will be refreshments and an opportunity for networking at 6.00pm with the presentations starting at 6:30pm. \nMike Buss (Head of Quality\, Taylor Woodrow) will present his experience implementing tablet technology on a large residential construction project. Mike will also provide an overview of the findings from a recent academic study he completed examining how tablet technology can be used to generate value for large principal contractors in the UK. \nIan Mills (Head of Quality\, Balfour Beatty) will share his experiences regarding implementation of tablet technology across a large organisation. \nRob Youster (Head of ICT at BAM Nuttall) will discuss how value can be generated within the construction industry from the use of smart data. \nPlease register via our Eventbrite page \nThis event is an opportunity to progress your CQI CPD plan. It will be a valuable learning experience for all quality professionals.
